\u2018Super-soloist\u2019 was the term France Musique used to introduce Dmitry Masleev when he\u00a0made his debut with the Orchestre National de France at the beginning of 2020, playing\u00a0Tchaikovsky\u2019s Piano Concerto no.1, the work that helped launch his international career\u00a0when he won the 2015 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow. Dmitry\u2019s\u00a0solo recital debut at the Philharmonie de Paris in March 2022 confirmed that a new\u00a0phenomenon had emerged among the most interesting pianists of our time: \u2018What an\u00a0artist! Everything is so simple, so ingenuous, without the slightest attempt to explain the\u00a0music\u2019, wrote Alain Lompech (Bachtrack).<\/p>\n
Dmitry\u2019s most recent activities include performances with the Basel Symphony Orchestra\u00a0and Ariane Matiakh, the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the National\u00a0Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan. He also gave a long-awaited performance of Prokofiev\u2019s\u00a0Third Piano Concerto at the Golden Hall of Vienna\u2019s Musikverein, accompanied by the Gy\u00f6r\u00a0Philharmonic Orchestra and Martin Rajna. This concert, rescheduled three times because\u00a0of the Covid pandemic, built on the success of a collaboration that started in 2018.<\/p>\n
His orchestral collaborations include the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (Robert\u00a0Trevino), Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France (Mikko Franck), Orchestre National\u00a0de Lyon (Tan Dun), Bamberger Symphoniker (Christoph Eschenbach), Orquestra Cadaqu\u00e9s\u00a0(David Robertson), Tampere Philharmonic (Joshua Weilerstein), Verbier Festival Orchestra\u00a0(G\u00e1bor Tak\u00e1cs-Nagy) and many others.\u00a0Dmitry often appears in recital at such festivals as La Roque d\u2019Anth\u00e9ron, Lucerne, Verbier,\u00a0Montreux, Rheingau, Bad Kissingen, Bodensee, Bergamo and Brescia, Festival du P\u00e9rigord\u00a0Noir, Klavierfestival Ruhr, Les Pianos Folies du Touquet and La Folle Journ\u00e9e.\u00a0North America fell in love with Dmitry Masleev when he made his Carnegie Hall recital\u00a0debut at the Isaac Stern Auditorium in January 2017. The following year, he toured coastto-coast with the Moscow State Symphony and Pavel Kogan. In the summer of 2022, he\u00a0performed at the Newport Classical Festival and the Festival Napa Valley.\u00a0Annual visits to South America have established Dmitry as an audience favourite in\u00a0Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Ecuador. During the pandemic he collaborated\u00a0with Allegro HD, the main arts and culture TV network of the continent, to offer music to\u00a0his fans despite the travel restrictions. He was recently invited to the prestigious Festival\u00a0Cervantino in Mexico to perform the repertoire featured on this album.\u00a0Dmitry appears regularly in Asian capitals with orchestras such as the Seoul Philharmonic,\u00a0New Japan Philharmonic and National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, as well as in recital.\u00a0Born and raised in Ulan-Ude (a Siberian town between Lake Baikal and the Mongolian\u00a0border), Dmitry trained at the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Professor Mikhail\u00a0Petukhov and at the International Piano Academy Lake Como.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
