Born in 1992, Jean-Baptiste Doulcet is a pianist, an improviser, a composer.<\/p>\n

In 2019 he won the Fourth Prize and the Audience Award at the Marguerite-Long Competition (chaired by Martha Argerich), then the Modern Times Award of the 2019 Clara Haskil Piano Competition (chaired by Christian Zacharias). Jean-Baptiste is also the second prize-winner of the Eighth Nordic Piano Competition and has been awarded by the Charles Oulmont Foundation.<\/p>\n

Regarded as one of the rising stars in the French piano community, similar in that respect to Alexandre Kantorow and Jean-Paul Gasparian (Classica Magazine) he released his first live-recorded CD during a Beethoven\/Schumann recital as well as improvisations (under the label les Spiriades) in 2017. He could be heard in many halls in France in the past few years, for instance Pleyel, Gaveau, Cortot, but also during the great piano festivals : La Roque d\u2019Anthe\u0301ron, La Folle Journe\u0301e, the Lisztomanias, Piano in Valois, Piano Jacobins, Nohant… Internationally, Jean-Baptiste Doulcet regularly performs in Denmark, the United States, Germany, Italy, China.<\/p>\n

His exceptional personality on the piano, both as a soloist and a sensitive chamber musician, is well known : he has played with the Oistrakh String Quartet, Augustin Dumay, Alexandre Kantorow, Marc Coppey, the Quatuor Herme\u0300s, the Quatuor Arod…, and is also recognized for his recitals of improvisation (Festival de Nohant, Aarhus Kammermuzik Festival, Glafsfjordens Festival…), since Jean-Baptiste embodies such artistic versatility.<\/p>\n

After studying at the CNSM in Paris under Claire De\u0301sert (piano and chamber music), Thierry Escaich and Jean-Franc\u0327ois Zygel (improvisation), he currently works with the great names of piano teaching: he has been developing his skills alongside Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist for two years now, not forgetting Dmitri Bashkirov, Hortense Cartier-Bresson, Epifanio Comis, Alexey Lebedev … As a composer, he has written no less than twenty or so works, mainly instrumental (solo instruments, chamber or ensemble music).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
