The soprano Raquel Camarinha began studying music at the age of five with the piano and the flute. Having always been attracted to singing and acting, she initially trained in these disciplines in Portugal, making her operatic debut in Lisbon at the age of nineteen. She then chose France to perfect her skills and in 2011 obtained her Master\u2019s degree in Singing at the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), followed in 2013 by Performer\u2019s Diplomas in Singing and in Contemporary Repertory and Creation.<\/p>\n
Very early in her career, the press singled her out for her fresh and luminous timbre and the subtlety and intelligence of her acting. \u2018It is the tour de force of Raquel Camarinha\u2019s exposed voice that impresses the most. She was a nominee in the category \u2018R\u00e9v\u00e9lation Artiste Lyrique\u2019 (Vocal discovery) at the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2017, and has won prizes at many national and international competitions.<\/p>\n
Raquel Camarinha performs many roles on the stage, receiving particular praise from the critics in leading parts in the operas of Mozart (Pamina, Susanna, Zerlina) and Handel (Morgana, Bellezza).
