Founded in 1978, The Orchestre de chambre de Paris has today asserted itself as a reference in France. With its Musical Director Douglas Boyd, it seeks to attain the highest artistic excellence and represents a new vision for music and of its role in society. A tight-knit community of 43 committed musicians from Paris, the orchestra brings to life four centuries of music and is heavily engaged in renewing the relationship between an orchestra and its home city.
\nFor forty years now, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris has collaborated with the greatest conductors and soloists with whom they have pursued the development of a vast repertory starting from the baroque period right up until contemporary creation, by adopting an original chamber music approach to their interpretations. The orchestra is also innovative in its relationship with its public, offering participative and immersive musical experiences and by developing new digital content. Its civic commitment asserts its willingness to share and its ambition to create ties with the largest possible public. The Orchestre de chambre de Paris is an associate orchestra of the Philharmonie de Paris, but also performs at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es, the Centquatre-Paris, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre 13 and the Salle Cortot. The orchestra is also present in opera productions at the Op\u00e9ra Comique and the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es. The Orchestre de chambre de Paris goes on a number of international tours and pursues a dynamic recording policy.<\/p>\n
