Non-conformist and original in her choice of repertory, Marie-Catherine Girod has found a special niche in the musical world for her curiosity about and daring interpretations of unknown or rarely played works. Underpinned by her impeccable technique and her personal commitment, her performances have given the public the opportunity to get to know such composers as Abel Decaux, Paul Le Flem, Vincent d\u2019Indy and Maurice Emmanuel, yet without neglecting the standard Classical and Romantic repertory, in which she excels. She has been a guest at major festivals in France and abroad, including La Folle Journ\u00e9e in Nantes and Tokyo, the Bagatelle and Nohant Chopin festivals, and the \u2018Rarit\u00e4ten der Klaviermusik\u2019 festival in Husum, Germany. She has made some forty recordings, many of which were world premieres, and has won numerous prizes, including the Grand Prix de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie du Disque Fran\u00e7ais and the Grand Prix International Charles Cros. Her recent releases include a recording of music by Gabriel Dupont with the Pra\u017e\u00e1k Quartet, released on Mirare (Choc de Classica).
