The Swedish-Irish soprano Maria Keohane performs in the world\u2019s foremost concert halls and opera houses. She is renowned for her excellence in oratorio (Bach, Handel, Mozart), but also in such operatic roles as Pamina (Mozart), Melanto and Giunone (Monteverdi) and Proserpina (Peri), as well as the contemporary classical and traditional repertories.<\/p>\n
Notable career highlights have been her participation in Concerto Copenhagen, the \u2018All of Bach\u2019 project with the Nederlands Bach Vereniging and \u2018Pure Handel\u2019 with the European Union Baroque Orchestra. She has also appeared at the celebrated Halle Handel Festival, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, the Royal Festival Hall in London and the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre des Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es in Paris. For many years she has worked with the Ricercar Consort and Philippe Pierlot in a wide variety of programmes ranging from Bach\u2019s St John Passion and cantatas by Weckmann to consort songs with violas da gamba. Just before the 2020 pandemic, she recorded some of Beethoven\u2019s Scottish songs with the Ricercar Consort in arrangements by Philippe Pierlot.<\/p>\n
She has been honoured several times by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in her native country Sweden, where she still lives, raising horses, restoring old buildings and making an active contribution to the cultural life of her region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
