“All good things come in threes” This phrase of Alban Berg’s, placed at the head of his Kammerkonzert (Chamber Concerto), can provide a justification for the coupling of this disc, a provocative yet logical juxtaposition of two musical worlds apparently so remote from one another: one of the key works of the twentieth-century avant-garde, combined with the greatest popular successes of Romantic Vienna.
