Jules Billé

Jules Billé began playing the double bass as a child. After studying classical double bass and jazz in La Roche-sur-Yon and Nantes (France), he entered the Jazz and Improvised Music department at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he studied with Riccardo Del Fra.

He discovered Hindustani music with Nicolas Delaigue and took up the cello and the colascione, a Renaissance bass lute, at the same time as practicing jazz.

He plays with Paul Lay, Alban Darche, Etienne Manchon.

Since 2021, he has been a member of the Armel Dupas Trio, with whom he has released several albums.

Jazz musician based in Paris, he is experimenting with a wide range of musical styles, from French song to musical and Balkan music.
