Claire-Marie Le Guay

Récital, Chamber music

Claire-Marie Le Guay

A soloist who has gained worldwide recognition, Claire-Marie Le Guay has performed at, particularly, Carnegie Hall in New York, Philharmonie in Paris, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Festival de La Roque d’Anthéron, at Klavier-Festival Ruhr. An international award-winner, she plays with the same commitment and talent in recitals, chamber music (with François Salque, the Modigliani quartet, and others), or in concertos (conducted by Daniel Barenboim, Louis Langrée, etc.). With the present record, Claire-Marie Le Guay reconnects with her early musical taste for Liszt again, whose interpretation brought her to public attention when she was only nineteen. This is her fourth recording for Mirare after « Voyage en Russie », Bach, then Schubert’s « Wanderer » with François Salque. Her very wide repertoire includes contemporary music (Dutilleux, Thierry Escaich – for whom she is the dedicatee of her several of his works, along with being one of his best interpreters –, Sofia Gubaïdulina or Bruno Mantovani). Because she considers transmission to be of paramount importance, Claire-Marie Le Guay has been teaching at CNSM in Paris since 2001. A committed artist, she has collaborated with the Opéra de Dijon from 2012 to 2020 for the development of artistic projects aimed at the younger audience. An Eisenhower Fellow in 2015, Claire-Marie Le Guay is also the artistic director of the International Music Festival in Dinard, and the author of La Vie est plus belle en musique, an essay published by Flammarion.
